Try as I may, I just searched for 2 minutes and could not find the new version of the Google logo in PNG format. So here it is, hopefully it will be a little easier for people to find and Google Image bot will index this:
What font does the Google logo use?
I had to dig a little bit to find the exact answer on this, but in short Google uses a font call Product Sans for their new logo. You can find more information about Product Sans on Google’s identity rundown page.
You can also download Google’s Product Sans type specimen PDF here.
But not so fast, you can’t download Product Sans for use on your own products. While Google makes many fonts available for open source use, Product Sans is not one of them. Google even says this verbatum on the license page for Product Sans:
“Google offers many fonts on open source terms. This is not one of them. Please see www.google.com/fonts.”
So you’ll have to make do without it, or workaround it somehow.
I have seen on other websites that you can use Google’s Product Sans as a web font via Google Font API:
<link href='https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Product+Sans' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>
There has been much debate over this, and to be honest it is a bit over my head. Licensing and type is not my strength. You can read more information on a Reddit discussion or in depth on Quora, or on this website.
Enjoy! If you have any questions, please let me know.
